One of my favorite Christmas traditions is getting together with family for a marathon baking day with our Louisville family. At our annual Cookie Day, we bake dozens of cookies using recipes from my husband’s grandmother. This year we borrowed the binder of recipes to copy so that we can have them, too. Each person/couple/family picks their recipes and then bakes them and we place them on a table so that at the end we can all take some of each type of cookie. We all go home with containers full of cookies. It’s so fun! I’m sharing our tradition in hopes of inspiring you to create your own special moments with your family or friends this season because that’s what matters most!
As you can imagine, it gets a bit crazy (in a good way) when you have that many people in one kitchen. We typically do it at one of our homes, so we must all share one oven, but it always seems to work. Maybe one year we should think about renting a space if our family continues to grow so quickly!
Besides the delicious treats, I love seeing family members that we don’t get to see often because they live in Kentucky or North Carolina. It’s so nice to catch up and spend quality time together.
This year Graham and I made no-bake peanut butter cookies. You really can’t go wrong with them. They’re delicious!
What’s your favorite kind of cookie?
