I have been on the hunt for a comfortable mom uniform for the Chicago area fall and winter. I don’t really enjoy wearing jeans, so I tend to wear mostly leggings in the colder months. I haven’t had much luck in the past with leggings that last more than a season before they become too worn out, uncomfortable or itchy at the tag or seams. I am currently trying out Cuddl Duds, which are currently on sale at Kohl’s, and as soon as I tried on my new Cuddl Duds Softwear with Stretch leggings I was pleasantly surprised by how soft and comfortable they are. I have them in black, but I will need to pick up more in other colors. I’ll be wearing them a lot this season paired with other layers as I take on my busy morning and work-from-home routine.
On most mornings I have to take out our dog, get both girls up and dressed, feed everyone breakfast, and make it to the school bus stop by 8 a.m. Maybe it doesn’t sound like a lot, but it sure is. It can get pretty hectic! I need easy-to-wear, comfortable clothes that can be thrown on in a hurry and still look cute.
I wore my new Cuddle Duds pieces, the Softwear With Stretch leggings in black and the Softwear With Stretch Crewneck in tonal buffalo check to take my girls to a Halloween event in Chicago and for my day-to-day routine, like school-bus drop-off and other errands. Chicago has been in the 50s and getting cooler by the day, which means it’s just about that time when we need to live in layers for eight months. The was the biggest lesson I learned when we moved to the city: Layers are key, especially the base layer.
What have I liked about the Cuddl Duds Softwear With Stretch leggings? They are thin, which means you can layer them under over-the-knee or -thigh boots, dresses/sweater dresses, work pants, snow pants, anything! There’s no itchy and uncomfortable tag. The elastic waistband is comfortable and forgiving. (It forms a bit of a V shape.) I wouldn’t advise wearing them alone out in the cold, but they were nice with a long cardigan or with a sweater dress/dress. (If you want more thickness in your leggings there are fleece Cuddl Duds leggings at Kohl’s as well.)
Another nice layering piece is the Cuddl Duds Softwear With Stretch Crewneck. I picked out and love the tonal buffalo check print! It’s the same soft material as the leggings that you can wear under any vest, sweater or jacket/coat to keep warm in the fall and winter. The top doesn’t get uncomfortable or too stretched out over the course of the day. It has a flattering body-hugging fit and comes with no tag.
Do you #LiveInLayers in the winter? If you like what you see, try out Cuddl Duds warm layers by purchasing them at Kohl’s this fall and winter. They are currently 30 percent off until Nov. 6, 2019!
