The 21c Museum Hotel Louisville was the perfect choice for a kid-free couples stay over the weekend. The hotel is located on historic Main Street near the riverfront. It’s also near the Muhammad Ali Center, Slugger Museum, and many restaurants and bars. What I love about the boutique hotel is that it has art exhibits in the lobby and in various rooms on the first floor and lower level.
We stayed on the fourth floor of the quiet, 91-room hotel. The room itself had art displayed inside as well. Our view was of the building across the street, along with some of the river and the Ali Center. We never once heard loud guests, or really anything to disturb us, while sleeping. Our king-size bed was comfortable and the room was spacious. The bathroom had white-tile walls and black lights for a trendy feel. The coffee maker in the room was a Nespresso, something we appreciated. The toiletries were by the brand Malin + Goetz, which offers products that are vegan, cruelty-free and formulated free from parabens, sulfates, PEGs, mineral oil, phthalates, and synthetic fragrance. You’re provided with two free small water bottles.
The hotel has a nice fitness room with a steam room and sauna. You could also book a massage but you should request it in advance. It appears the massage therapists are not on-site and must be requested.
Guests can visit the museum exhibits at any time without any reservations. The general public can visit from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m.
One downside of our brief stay was that many restaurants in the area were closed, at least according to a quick Google search while looking for dinner options. Proof on Main is located in the hotel, but we were advised to make reservations. If you’re looking for coffee, though, there’s a local shop named Blackbeard Espresso that was lovely, with great service.
I recommend 21c Museum Hotel Louisville for a comfortable and unique stay in Louisville.
