If we start dressing like it’s spring, will Chicago temperatures get the memo? I am daydreaming about going on vacation to somewhere warm and tropical, like Florida or Hawaii, but I’ll settle for more sunshine and less rain. I recently picked up a few spring items for my daughters and myself. We have a busy season ahead with their two birthday parties, swim lessons for both of them and lots of family fun, so I’m getting into the spirit by sharing my affordable spring fashion haul for the family.
I wanted to get myself a one-piece swimsuit that I can wear to the mom-and-me swim classes. After having a baby last year I was no longer comfortable in my two-piece swimsuits. No way! Luckily, I found the perfect one-piece option at Walmart! I came across this Time and Tru black ruffle swimsuit on Walmart’s website and took advantage of free two-day shipping to have it time for our most recent swim lessons. The swimsuit gives me the coverage I want but with some playfulness in the ruffles. The cinching hugs me in the right places and makes me feel more comfortable. I paired it with sandals I already had, a coverup from Time and Tru for wearing outside of the pool or on the beach and an adorable Aloha tote, also from Time and Tru, and I was good to go.

For V I picked up a two-piece outfit that she can wear to her birthday party in May. She requested a unicorn theme, and when I saw this reversible tutu skirt and ruffle top combo I knew I had to get it for her. The top says “I’m Actually a Unicorn.” It’s SO cute. She will wear it will gold flats at her birthday — and probably all the time this spring and summer.

For A, who is outgrowing clothing so quickly, I bought a set of two dresses with matching bloomers. The florals and bright colors give off spring vibes, and she looks so adorable in them. Also, they have POCKETS. She will soon know the joy of pockets on dresses.

Best of all, these finds were affordable. What I like about shopping at Walmart is that I can find styles we like at prices that are easy on our budget.
Have you done any spring shopping? What do you think of my finds?
