When Cardinals training camp was in Flagstaff, it offered Phoenicians an opportunity to escape the heat. Yesterday was quintessentially spring.The day kicked off with blissful -- and might I add free -- yoga at the McDowell Mountain Music Festival's local stage. For my final spring training game of this year, I visited Camelback Ranch Glendale. The grassy parking area near the center field entrance was the perfect setting for some tailgating before the game. Spring-training at Surprise Stadium
We wanted to spread the love among as many spring-training facilities as possible, so my companions and I chose to watch the Kansas City Royals play the Chicago White Sox at Surprise Stadium today. While it's quite a drive from the Tempe area, it's a nice stadium and, unlike other venues, parking is free. I was also pleased to find that lawn tickets were $7 instead of $8.
