On a recent Saturday I checked out the offerings at the Central Avenue Farmers Market on Northern and Central avenues. There is a world of difference in quality and taste of the produce from stores that I have shopped at and this farmers market.

For about $40 I got all this and some bananas (not pictured). |
I purchased strawberries, cherries, avocados, tomatoes, spinach, green beans, red and green peppers, broccoli, lettuce, kale, carrots a cucumber, an onion and a banana. Not bad at all!
Check out the Central Avenue Farmers Market from 8 a.m. to noon Saturdays until September. And don’t worry about braving the heat, since half of it is indoors. Need cash? The “ATM” worker can swipe your card and give you tokens to use (in denominations of $10). I was then given change in cash from vendors. There was a $1 optional donation to use this service.
I will be getting my produce from this market from now on!
