For our seventh anniversary date night, we chose a night at the Immersive Van Gogh Exhibit Chicago, which is being held at the Lighthouse ArtSpace in the Gold Coast area of Chicago. The experience features projections of Van Gogh’s artwork set to music and containing frames of video, with interesting transitions. You may spend as long as you wish in the space; a cushion is recommended if you choose to sit on a seat or the floor as you take it in.
We purchased the Premium Flex tickets (about $59 each), which included a limited edition poster and cushion rental. Be sure to pick up your cushion before entering the experience space. It’s at a desk in the gift shop, where you can also purchase pastries and take a photo at the sunflower wall. Flex passes also give you the flexibility to arrive within two hours of your selected time.

There’s so much to see during the experience; projections are on both the floors and walls. When the initial projection ends, it immediately replays, so don’t worry about missing something. Take your time.

The Van Gogh Exhibit makes a great date night, especially if you stop by Tapiros ( a short walk away) afterward for sushi or Thai.
