FunBox, which calls itself the world’s largest bounce park, returned to Skokie this summer. It opened recently in the parking lot outside the former Bloomingdale’s store at Westfield Old Orchard mall.
We checked it out again this year during the grand opening $19 entrance deal, which isn’t so much a discount considering we paid $12-13 last year for the same thing. Despite that, I had to take my girls to the park after having driven past it for a whole week.
The regular price is $28 this year, vs. $24 in 2023. Fun fact: Everyone pays the same price, whether you’re jumping or not. (Senior citizens get a discount though.)
No matter the price, kids will love it. You get 80 minutes of jump time, after which a voice on the speakers directs you to the exit so the next group of jumpers can enter the park.
Attractions include one giant connected bounce house with many slides, activities, and obstacles to climb. There’s also a small bounce house called the Candy Shop, which seemed to be most popular with the younger kids.

FunBox also has an obstacle course through which you can race against your friends, family or strangers. Tip: If you are over 35, be careful. You don’t want to hurt yourself. I mean this with all sincerity.
FunBox has two shaded seating areas with tables, so adults seemed to hang out there while waiting for their kiddos to get tired. Loud music blares from the speakers, and you can buy a snow cone and choose your flavors. There’s also a place to store shoes and belongings.
One thing I appreciated is that FunBox doesn’t force you to pay for their branded grippy socks, unlike many other trampoline parks. You can wear regular socks or any other grippy socks you own. I hope this doesn’t change.
You can also bring in your own food and drinks, which is nice. I saw others bring in two boxes of pizza, which they enjoyed while the kids jumped. Something to note: Children under 13 must be accompanied by an adult and kids 5 and under must be accompanied into the inflatable by an adult. You can’t just drop off your kids.
Will I take my kids again? Probably. We drive and walk by it regularly, and my kids love it. I will try to hold out for a sale though, because $28 is too expensive, in my view.
