Like so many parents, I’ve been looking for ways to keep my kids entertained and happy during this difficult time. It seems so unfair to them to tell them they can’t go to playgrounds, attend swim lessons, play with friends or see family members in person, even though it’s necessary. At the same time, I have tried to support local businesses, so I picked up some craft kits from WE Events Chicago recently. I bought three craft kits on a recent Saturday morning and they were delivered to my door (contactless) that afternoon! She even threw in an extra kit and some bracelets.
Normally WE Events is an event planning company that helps people put on pop-up events, donations drives, volunteer events, parties, and more. Right now, WE Events is offering craft kits and balloon fences as social distancing requirements mean no more parties. If you live in the Chicago area and want to pick up some craft kits, DM WE Events Chicago on Instagram to see what she has in stock. (If you aren’t in Chicago she can ship these to you if you ask.)
Bath Bomb Kit: We didn’t put the molds on right but the bath bombs worked just fine! The girls loved the little surprises inside.
Unicorn Kit: V loves unicorns so I knew she would enjoy putting this together.
Slime Kit: This got a little messy with the glitter and letting the kids do it mostly on their own, but worth it!
Suncatcher Kit: This was the free kit she threw in with my order. It was super easy for the girls to decorate and I tightened it together for them. It now hangs in their room.
In addition to craft kits, WE Events Chicago also offers rainbow balloons decorations on your front fence or steps for a fee. She installs them in the morning so they are ready to surprise your little ones on their quarantine birthday. (Inquire for the cost, but I believe they start at $50 for 8 feet.)
You can also feel good about your purchase because WE Events partners with charities and gives away many craft kits to kids in need. According to the website, “WE Events was founded on the belief that helping others is intensely rewarding and fun. We are passionate about giving back, which is why every event we plan helps bring awareness and/or donations to local charitable organizations.”
As I have said before, I love supporting businesses that give back, especially at a time like this.
Would you like to try any of these craft kits?
