Moving across the country completely threw off my marathon training plans. I had little time for anything else but preparing for the move. Somehow we pulled off packing, selling, donating and shipping our things in a week and a half. I am proud of us. But I am so out of shape now thanks to road trip junk food and little exercise. I could really use a yoga session and a massage.
Monday: Going-away dinner at The Yard with friends. I’m going to miss them so much!
Tuesday: Going-away dinner with a friend at Postino on Central Avenue. As I walked to my car, I looked up to read just the sign I needed to see.
Wednesday: 2.8-mile run and packing. I couldn’t sleep — the norm these days — so I ran at 7 a.m. (Early for me!) I don’t know why, but lately I’ve been turning around during my out-and-backs too early, which is cutting my runs short. My motivation was renewed by a gift from my friend Ashley of Perfectley Peared. She sent tags to wear during my first marathon, and one is engraved with the date of the Kentucky Derby Festival Marathon. The other says “Never Give Up.” So, I guess this means I can’t back out now.
Thursday: I started the day with 10 minutes of yoga. That’s all the exercise I had time for besides packing and loading all of our belongings into shipping containers.
Friday: We did more packing and cleaning. The only running I did was errands.
Saturday: 4.32-mile run before more errands and my sister’s baby shower. It was an amazing celebration of my baby niece!
Sunday: Started the drive to Chicago. (More on that later!)
Weekly goal: 23 miles.
Actual mileage: 7.12 miles.
March mileage so far: 47.82.
#1800MinuteChallenge so far: 2,187.
