My youngest daughter is Nutella’s biggest fan. When I told her Chicago has a Nutella Cafe, she immediately asked when we could go. We ventured down to Michigan Avenue on a chilly February day to see what it offers.
As I often do when we are driving into the city, I booked a parking spot on SpotHero. I have never had a problem finding the spot I booked, but this one required driving on Lower Wacker, which is always a mess. GPS kept losing us, so we became frustrated and chose to instead just park across the street via paid the Park Chicago app. All this to say that you can probably just find street parking nearby.
We walked up to the cafe and joined the line that formed outside. It was lunchtime, so a line was not unexpected. A Nutella Cafe worker lets you know when you can enter, usually a few parties at a time.
There was a line inside as well. You have plenty of time to check out the menu before it’s your turn to order at the cashier. Finding an open table was a challenge, but we snagged one next to a window with a view of Michigan Avenue. A server brings your food to your table.
We ordered a bit of everything. The menu has many build-your-own style offerings, which means you can choose the toppings on your item. My youngest daughter ordered Nutella waffles with strawberries and whipped cream, as well as Nutella crepes with whipped cream and strawberries, but they also put bananas on them by mistake.
I ordered a Nutella-filled croissant. It was a decent size and delicious. I wouldn’t have minded a bit more Nutella in it.

Needless to say, we were stuffed. We loved everything, but the best was the waffles and the croissant. The crepes were my least favorite but still good. The total for our order, including an additional order of pancakes and two bottled drinks, was about $65.
Besides cafe menu items, you can also buy Nutella merch, including a Loungefly backpack and personalized Nutella jars.
Overall, the Nutella Cafe is a fun place to try if you love the spread or you’re in the mood for a sweet treat.
