If you are fortunate enough to be able to book yourself a vacation this year, you might think summer is the best time to travel. Summer is the most popular time to travel mostly because children are off school during those months and the weather is more ideal for relaxation.
Sure, people can go skiing and relax in the snowbound mountains of the Rockies, but not many people consider snow as a relaxing vacation in the same way they do a beach vacation. If you are looking for a last-minute vacation idea, and want to get ready for spring 2023, you might consider a spring vacation. Here’s why:
- Ideal temperatures. In many places, springtime doesn’t have snow or ice, and you don’t often have to worry about freezing winds the same way you do in November. You can also avoid scorching weather that you might get in June, especially for a staycation. For most European destinations, spring is an ideal time to travel, so you might think about that when you are going to book.
- There are fewer crowds. Many people like to avoid traveling through the peak summer months because of the crowds. Queuing up and fighting crowds can be an unavoidable part of travel, but if you can avoid it, why wouldn’t you?
- It’s cheaper. Peak travel always means peak prices, and often the spring months are not considered to be peak time because children are still in school. Sure, many schools have spring break, but often these are scattered. Flights, accommodations and even some attractions can be cheaper in the spring because it’s considered to be the off-season. Fewer places are overbooked, which means you’re actually able to get into other attractions you wouldn’t normally see during the heavy summer months.
- It has a vibe. Traveling in the spring can be so nice. Spring has sprung, there are flowers everywhere and it smells lovely. You can visit gardens at your location, for example. That may just be because the patios starts to open up in the springtime, but you get the point.
