We had the chance to attend friends and family night at the new Winterland at Wrigley Field before it opened recently. Winterland is a winter wonderland experience on the iconic baseball field, with amusement rides, a lodge, chalets for rent, ice-skating, games, a slide, and more.

Winterland admission is $5 per person, but if you want to go on any of the attractions, you’ll need to purchase tickets separately. The $30 package gets you admission plus 10 tickets.

We rode every ride but had the most fun on the bumper cars and teacups. I thoroughly enjoyed the 10 minutes of bumping into each other and spinning in the cars. I also tried ice-skating for the first time, though I relied on a penguin.
The attractions:
- Teacups
- Train around the infield
- Slide
- Bumper cars
- Spinning ride
- Ice-skating rink (Skate rentals are extra.)
- Carnival-style games
You can grab drinks in souvenir mugs and visit the Christkindlmarket outside, too.
The stadium restrooms were open under the scoreboard. You can also do some shopping for gear, including cute women’s Cubs wear.
I think the Wrigley Field crew and its contractors did a fantastic job putting this together. It is a popular new attraction, so expect crowds, especially weekends.
Be sure to visit Winterland at Gallagher Way before it closes January 8, 2023.
