I’ve learned to pack wisely for beach vacations. The beach makes the perfect backdrop for your next holiday card picture and for a romantic trip. While they are Instragram-worthy, they could rapidly turn into a nightmare if you don’t pack properly. Here are some essential tips for how to pack for a beach vacation and keep you stylish and comfortable during your trip.
Have fun with your outfits
When you’ve booked your next trip to a tropical island, it’s fun to dress the part. I love leafy prints, fruit prints, and Hawaii style patterns. Tropical islands call for vibrant colors; you know you can go bold without feeling out of place. Be sure to bring extras if you’re going somewhere with high humidity where you might want to change your clothes midway through the day.
Pack shoes to walk in
Flip-flops are not the only option. Flip-flops may be great for going to the beach, but they won’t be of any use for much else. If you are planning to visit the surrounding areas, you want to bring with you a pair of sturdy shoes. Hiking sandals, water shoes or sneakers are some of the best options for tropical vacations. They will keep your feet secure, preventing injuries.
Bandages are a good idea to bring to place your any potential blisters.
Have long sleeves and pants ready
Add a lightweight long-sleeve top to protect your skin, along with pants. Aim for something lightweight and loose so your skin can cool down naturally. If you’ve already got sunburn, as is often the case during a beach vacation, your skin will thank you for switching to long sleeves and long legs. The protective layer allows your skin to heal and reduces future damage risk. It can also protect from insect bites.
Bring weather accessories
Pack a rain jacket or poncho if it tends to rain a lot at your destination. An umbrella also comes in handy.
For our Florida trip, we brought small fans to help us stay cool as well. Insect repellent and sunscreen are also essential.
Marine winds and tropical rain can take you by surprise. If you are dreaming of a gorgeous night at the beach, you will need to add some layers to your outfit. At night, the sand is cold, and the temperature can drop.
Preparing for every eventuality the vacation might present will help you create unforgettable and happy memories. Have a fun vacation!
