It’s taken us months, but we are finally almost done putting together our girls’ shared bedroom. My almost 11-month-old and 4-year-old daughters will be in the same room to keep them next to our bedroom and hopefully build a stronger bond. We chose an animal theme mixed with florals with gray and pink walls as the backdrop for their space. I love how it’s turning out! While we still want to find a soft playmat or rug and switch the placement of their bed/crib, the room is pretty much complete and ready to be revealed.
We began by painting the white walls with Valspar’s Baby Blush and Gravity paint. We painted the trim around the windows and the baseboards white, too.
I found Addi’s gray upholstered crib at a closeout price. While the gray is out of stock, I found it here in white! I absolutely love her crib. I don’t recall where I purchased V’s toddler bed two years ago, but this is where I found her floral bedding.
We use a rocking chair we already had in their room for nursing. It’s not the most comfortable chair in the world but I didn’t want to purchase an expensive rocker to use for a year. I use my Boppy, which was gifted to me at my baby shower, to make it more comfy. A friend also gifted the elephant mobile. I then purchased matching a matching elephant crib sheet.
Between the beds we have these animal/floral prints I purchased from this Etsy shop. I purchased the files and printed them myself at home. I then bought these frames to display them.

On each side of the frames we have floral handmade letters from an Etsy shop. These took about a month to receive because they arrived from the United Kingdom. They were worth the wait! I chose the 30 cm letters as well as the colors I wanted. Next to the sliding glass doors we have their table and two chairs, which we bought at Babies R Us a couple of years ago. They love to color and read on the table.

My next favorite part of the room is the tree decal, which we customized to have a white tree, branches and leaves and pink butterflies and birds. This took several days to install (with two kids to take care of at the same time) but it was so worth it. I love how it came out! (The shop allows you to choose the colors of each part of the tree and the birds/butterflies.)

We use the bookshelf that I have had for years (and used to be in my office) for books and puzzles. We also have a basket of other stuffed animals given to the girls. We use baskets in the bookcase to hold floor puzzles and Play-Doh.
We also added book ledges next to the book shelf and tree. We display our favorite books, including “Where the Wild Things Are” and the “Earth Book.”

Other decor in the room: Animal decorations from my baby shower that I wanted to reuse, a floral/animal height chart that was a gift from family and birds we bought years ago. We use a gray toy chest for toy storage that I found online.

The room has a sliding door that leads to a balcony, where we have our bird feeder, which was gifted to us by my in laws. V loves looking out for birds and she has three books to help her identify the birds she is seeing.

This space is my favorite to spend time in. I hope the girls will continue to love it!
