September was yet another blur, which is what I think of every month so far this year. It was a month of letting go of summer and welcoming big changes in my life. Along the way there were baseball games, marathon training runs, and important milestones. September’s favorites all helped me in my transition into fall and into my new life.
Here’s what I loved in September:
Wet n Wild Lipstick in Dark Wine: I love how smooth, pigmented and affordable this lipstick is — it’s only 99 cents! I have been wearing it nonstop recently. I used to not be a lipstick person because I was never really comfortable wearing it; I didn’t want to draw any attention. As I gain more confidence I find myself wearing more lipstick.
“Year of Yes: How to Dance It Out, Stand In the Sun and Be Your Own Person” by Shonda Rhimes: I listened to “Year of Yes” on Audible and I thought Rhimes has a poetic, rhythmic voice. I liked her style of writing and lessons, though I don’t necessarily agree with everything she says, especially about marriage. That’s OK, though, because most of her book is about being an introvert and doing things that make you uncomfortable. That’s where the growth happens. The book also talks about expectations for mothers and how mothers shouldn’t be afraid to admit when they need help (and they shouldn’t be judged for it).
This post originally contained a nail polish that I didn’t realize wasn’t cruelty-free, so I deleted it.
