We had one day off together as a family, so we decided to check out the new Brick Safari at Brookfield Zoo near Chicago. It’s a new exhibit at the zoo that features animals and other items made of LEGOs. Next to each animal you can see information about how many LEGOs were used and how long each sculpture took to build. They are impressive to see.
The Brick Safari requires an additional ticket from general admission. The Brick Safari costs $5 for adults and $3 for children ages 3-11 and seniors 65 and over. Children 2 and under are admitted free. General admission is $21.95 or $20.95 online for adults; $15.95 or $14.95 online for ages 3 to 11. Or you can choose a build-your-own ticket for which you pick three attractions ($30.95 for adults and $22.50 for ages 3-11 and seniors). We chose to become Plus members because we want to also check out other holiday events coming up at Brookfield Zoo, and it seemed like a membership would save us money if we do so, especially on parking.
As you can tell from my photos, these are life-size sculptures.
You’ll find the entrance to the Brick Safari on the east side of the zoo near the South Gate. Along the path you’ll see more than 40 animal sculptures and photo opportunities.
It’s best to take your time to really admire the hard work and time it took to put these LEGO sculptures together.
You’ll see a lot more sculptures than I am showing in this post. At the end of the trail you enter a gift shop with lots of LEGO gifts.
For us it was worth the drive because the girls enjoyed it. Although we have been to Brookfield Zoo many times, the Brick Safari made this visit special.
Come along with us on the LEGO brick road as we check out the Brick Safari in our video!
