I recently visited Didier Farms in Lincolnshire, about a 40 minute drive from where we live in Chicago. It was a busy morning at Didier Farms. A long line of children flowed into the farm as we arrived, but we found more than enough pumpkins to choose from.
First we bought ride tickets ($1 each) so my daughter could ride a couple of rides. Any unused ride tickets can be used in the farm stand toward your pumpkin purchase.
When jumping time was up, we picked our pumpkins. My daughter was reluctant to come out, but we told her we were going to go down the slide, so she finally agreed. She also found her perfect pumpkin.
Then we headed to the farm stand for cherry pie filling, treats for friends and apple-cider doughnuts.
On the way out, we spotted this gorgeous kale that we really want to get for our plant collection next year.
