My strong, brave, smart, funny and beautiful V turned 6 this week, and we celebrated her birthday quarantine style, that is via Zoom with our family. She is an Elsa fan, so she chose Frozen 2 as the theme for her birthday celebration at home.
As I did with A’s Baby Shark birthday, I decorated our dining room in the chosen theme. I enjoy spending the night before birthdays decorating while they sleep so they can awaken to a delightful surprise. We also wrap their gifts that family members and friends sent and have everything set up ahead of time. I found her Frozen 2 theme balloons online and we used a basic plastic tablecover for the backdrop to hide the photo canvas in the dining area. I loved the Believe paired with the Elsa, Anna, Olaf and heart balloons. (I hung them with Command strips to keep them secure.) The large Elsa balloon in the photo actually has Anna on the other side, so you could switch them if you prefer.

On the table I used a plain white tablecloth that we purchased at the last minute after I realized I had ordered a Frozen blue foil table runner instead of a tablecloth. (We will be reusing these tablecovers to protect our floors during the girls’ art projects to reduce waste.) I found Olaf water bottles online along with one set each of lunch plates and dessert plates in the Frozen 2 theme. I also found a beautiful glitter snowflake candle for the cake.

V’s cake was ice cream cake from Baskin-Robbins, in keeping with the Frozen theme. Baskin-Robbins offers a Frozen 2 theme cake at various prices depending on the size. It comes with a collectible cake topper that spins. We enjoyed the chocolate cake after dinner as a family.

We also like to get big number balloons for each birthday. (By the way, we still have all balloons we have purchased for past birthdays in the basement and the girls play with them daily. They did not go to waste.) We set it up in front of the fireplace (which we don’t use right now) along with her gifts.

I also had to be extra and make Frozen inspired shirts with my Cricut Maker. I made iron-on shirts for the girls with Elsa and Anna SVG files that I purchased for personal use. I also made Samantha? shirts for Graham and me. If you know, you know. (We don’t even know a Samantha!)

The Zoom call with family was a highlight of the day. It was so special seeing everyone together to celebrate our girl. I wish we could have been together in person, but at least we are all safe.
