After more than a month of using the NordicTrack Commercial S22i Studio Cycle Bike, I can offer more opinions about it. The main one: I am happy with my purchase. I don’t see myself going back to a gym anytime soon. Having the bike in my home has given me more motivation to work out after months of lacking the inspiration. I have a feeling the NordicTrack will be even more appreciated during Chicagoland’s winter, when I won’t want to leave the house anyway.
I love that the NordicTrack now offers Bluetooth connection for your headphones. When I first purchased the NordicTrack this was not an option, which was a disappointment. I could connect my wired headphones, but not wirelessly. I now can, which is so nice because I can avoid distractions. I also still love the fan. It’s really a lifesaver when you get hot and sweaty, which happens during every workout.
So far I have completed 26 workouts and two TED talk rides. My favorite trainer has been Gideon Akande from Chicago. I began by taking his Quick Sweat Mini series before completing the Lean and Fit series. Each workout began with intervals on the bike, switched to floor workouts, and then finished with more intervals. I love that the bike switches up the incline and resistance on its own, but you can still adjust if needed. After completing that series I moved on to the Next Level HIIT series with Ashley Paulson. I found both to be motivational during the studio classes. Having trainers provides more variety and inspiration to my workouts. On my own I would not work as hard.
The tilting screen is so handy when we are on the floor portion of a workout. I get off my bike, move the screen to where I want it to give me enough room for the movements. The fan still works, too.
I didn’t know this when I purchased the NordicTrack, but the iFit program also has TED talks. It’s a nice change of pace from when you don’t have as much time to ride and just want a quick session while learning something new from the TED talk. I watched one about how the brain functions in multilingual people that I found interesting.
Besides studio classes, I have also tried a scenic ride through Japan. It was one of the most challenging workouts I’ve done because it simulates the actual inclines on that route. It was visually stimulating as well. I need to do more of the rides in global destinations.
I have not tried any yoga or other classes yet because I enjoy the actual cycling part, but you could get more variety in your workouts by trying them.
The Leaderboard on the screen lets you compare your performance to others who have done each workout before. It shows the username, age and how far they have gone. If you like competition it might be more motivating. I sometimes pay attention to it and sometimes not. It depends on my mood.
We have yet to create more profiles, but apparently one iFit membership allows you to create up to four profiles.
I would recommend the NordicTrack Commercial S22i Studio Cycle Bike.
