Maybe I just hallucinated a pandemic. That’s how it feels when I continue distancing while others are enjoying the reopening by going to restaurants or hosting parties. I am still living that semi-quarantined life and don’t really know when that will end. I’ve been reflecting on the various stages of quarantine I’ve experienced since March. First it began with anxiety. Lots and lots of anxiety. I tried to help people by donating wherever I could. I donated more in March that I did probably all of last year. I just felt so helpless and I wanted to do what I could to help others. Since then I have gone through different phases. Here are the things I did during quarantine:
- Work on home projects. I turned some of my anxiety into motivation to work on home projects. I painted doors in my home and we started a bathroom renovation (that still isn’t complete). We worked on our yard and planted seeds. I organized and decluttered, too. Then it fizzled out. I haven’t done any home projects since.
- Make tie dye. This would be on any quarantine bingo card. I wanted to make shirts for me and the girls. They didn’t turn out as I thought, but it was fun.
- Download Tiktok. I was bored. I downloaded the app once and deleted it. I downloaded it again. I’ve been using it ever since. I realize the issues it has so I am unsure if I will continue to use it.
- Start an Etsy shop. TikTok made me do it. If someone had told me I would have downloaded the app and used it daily in 2020, I would not have believed them. But it happened. I find the app to be more enjoyable than any other site right now. It also motivated me to start an Etsy shop. Who knew?
- Buy biker shorts. I still don’t think I can really pull them off, but they are comfortable.
- Go on family picnics.
